From what Ive read I think you really must talk to someone about the way you are feeling. Your mum would be the best. I know its hard to admit things aren't as rosey as you've painted, but Mums have this knack of understanding and reassuring your fears. She would be more annoyed a few years down the line that you didnt turn to her when you needed someone.
If you really cannot talk to your mum, go along to your GP. The Gp is virtually a stranger anyway and can often be easier to open up to about your feelings.
