i went into labour the day before my due date, which shocked me as everyone said first babies are always late! Not alex!
eventually after 26 hours of labour and no pain relief, not through choice - just the spanish way, i was eventually given an emergency c - section.
When i think back it wasnt too bad, obviously you dont remember how bad the pain was but what i didnt like was that in spain its not the norm for your partner to be with you until you are actually giving birth, so i was alone the whole time and then Paul couldnt come in to see alex born because it was an emergency.
And they tok him away as soon as he was born, they let me kiss him and look at him for a second then i couldnt see him till i left the recovery room and went up to the ward which was about 3 hours later!!
