special needs | | hi my 31/2 wee boy has a very rare genetic dysorder called beckwith -weidermann sydrome, which is a disorder with a whole range and degrees of symptoms ,he has learning difaculties and does not speak,he has brain damage in the front of his brain which has damaged his speach, on top of this he has another even rarer problem which is instead of the blood raining out of his brain down the back of his head like you and me his blood drains down the front ,due to his plumbing in his brain being all mixed up which causes severe pressure in his brain and there is nothing they can do to correct this but they can put a stent in to open up some of the veins to help ease the pressure and ther flow of blood, they are also talking about putting a shunt in a well to drain the fluid he had a op in aug but didnt help so he is going in on 11th dec and getting both of the procedures i hve talked about done so ill be asking for every one to keep there fingers and toes crossed then for me ,
will let you all know how he gets on x |
