Default 6 weeks early !!

I was about 30 ish weeks pregnant when we moved into a brand new house , my partner had taken some time off work too get the house carpeted etc .. we have two older children an had too settle them into new schools etc .. i was having a brilliant pregnancy pretty much textbook to be honest ...by the time i was 32 weeks i began havin some pretty awful pains they were spaced out pretty far an there was no regular patern so the midwife put it down too muscle stretchin an told me too rest .. not so easy when u have two children too tend too ... our new carpets were delivered on the 5th feb and my partener got workin on laying them all he finished the last one at 6pm on the 7th feb low an behold an hour later my waters broke all over said new carpets ...we took the children too my parents an had too travel too the next town as our home town hospital isnt equipt too deal with babies born b4 36 weeks .. on arriving at the hospital i was monitored an was found too be contracting very mildly an very very infrequently .. i was kept in for close monitoring for two days an given steriod injections too stregthen babies lungs an also put on antibiotics too keep infections at bay an then was relaesed as nothing was happening i was really anxious about being released as i was worried for baby but his strong an regular movements kept me reassured ... two days after being discharged from hospital i began losing a small amount of blood an havin more painful an regular contractions so we traveeld again too the next twon where i was examined an had a swab taken .. all day i was havin little niggly pain but as nothing solid was happenin i was just left on the ward too wait ... it got too 9 pm an i told my partner to make his way home and told him if anything was too happen i would call him ... within half hour of him leaving my contractions were extremly painful an the midwife took me down too delivery where they put me on a monitor too check babies heartbeat .. there it showed that with every contractions babys hear beat was droppin .. after about twenty minutes of being monitored it was found i had a high temperature and then it was found that the swab they had taken earleir was showing a start off an infection in the womb.. my partner arrived just as i was being told that they would have too preform an emergency c section .. the theatre staff were brill and relaxed me as much as possible but i was greatly distressed an worried for my baby ..... they delivered him an there was a horrible silence .. his cries werent filling the air as i had hoped they would be .. it seemed like forever b4 he started cryin an he was then bought over too us for a few minutes b4 being rushed over too intensive care whilst i was being taken care off my partner rushed over tooo see our lil man .. and came extremly happy saying that he was fine and that he was just havin a little oxygen up his nose too help him out .. this is known as cpap ... about 3am i was taken down too see him and was surprised at how well he looked an how perfectly beautiful he was .. i was unable too hold him as he was in an incubator an on monitors etc .. i was then taken upto the ward but within an hour of being on the ward i was visited by a paediatricain (sp) who said my baby needed too be ventilated as he was having problems breathing he was also sedated ...the following mornin when we visited liam we were told he had septecemia and a lung infection he was hooked up too all kinds off monitors and i had never felt so afraid and helpless ...later we were informed that liam had an infection called strep pneumonea which he had caught from me .. the reason i had got this was because my waters had broken 4 days before liam was born ...the drs tried three times too do a lumbar puncture on him but they never quite managed it ... he was not allowed any milk an was just kept on a drip for his first 5 days ... finally his infection began too respond too antibiotics an he was allowed his first bit of milk via a tube in his nose ... as soon as he had this feed he began too get a good appetite an when he was 8 days old he was taken too a less intense unit an was later transferred too a different hospital .. he was then taken out off his incubator an put into a normal criban slowly over the next few days was taken off the monitors .. at 14 days old his antibiotics ended an we were able too give him his first bath ....
he still was havin trouble sucking his feed so was still be fed via his nasal tube ...at 18 days old his nasal tube was due for a change the nurse said we could keep it out for a while an see if liam got hungry enough too feed an sure enough he did he was even demanding more after he had emptied his bottles .. it was a brilliant day .. three days later he was discharged an we bough our little man home he did have a cold when he was discharged which two weeks later did result in us having a big scare when he stopped breathing as his nasal passage was so obstructed but my partner managed too bring him back round whilst i was phoning for an ambulance other than this he has been the picture of health and is thriving he puts on weight beautifully an is a perfectly content baby .. he brings me so much happiness an has completed our family
