it could just be an age thing, ive had someting similar with my daughter, also named jess, and now she is fine, but occasionally ignores me or is in a world of her own. My friend is also having this problem at the moment and has a settled home life, hopefully its the same for you, just her age, hope it gets better and its just an easy problem and solution.
