Never used to have any probs when they were younger but when my eldest reached about 13-14 thats when the s**t hit the fan really. He started all that "you cant tell me what to do you're not my dad" scenario and turned very aggressive...to cut a long story short I put up with hell for about 2 1/2 years until he was almost 16 and then I said enoughs enough and sent him packing..he went to live with his dad at his nanna's house and is still there. He will be 19 this year and has not spoken to me or my husband only to hurl abuse on odd occasions. He hasnt even acknowedged that he has a new baby brother which upsets me.
Thankfully although my other 2 have typical teenage attitudes they get on well with their stepdad!
