my labour started of at 00.15 on the thursday morning. my due date. i was in the kitchen sweeping the floorn as i couldn't get comfy in bed. when my waters broke. i instanly had mild contractions so phoned in they said to take my time. got showered picked up my mum and went to the hospital. she checked it was my waters which it was. duh!! sent me home as contractoins weren't very strong. went to bed and at 6 that morning woke with the most horrendous pains in my back! every 4 min lasting 45 seconds. managed to brave it until 1 in the afternoon. went back to hosp where i was only 3 cm. anyway after a long night where it was taking 7hrs to dialate 1 cm i was shattered and in agony. they gave me an epidural and some oxitocin things started to speed up this was 4 on the fri afternoon. at 10 the epidural was turned off as it was going to far up and numbing my lungs! also the consultant was called in as the baby was in distress. theartre was on standby and i was told i was 10cm and to start pushing. yeah ok i'm shattered haven't slept since the tuesday night! 45 minutes later at 00.17 saturday she popped out. i do not know where i got the strength. then my little baby was rushed away. but i am glad to say she is a healthy eighteen month old now. and it was well worth it. i'd do it all again tomorrow!
