hey girls, thought i'd share my birth story as im new on here!
i fell pregnant a few weeks before my 18th birthday, but didnt find out until a few days before xmas! (thats another story
) i was living at home at the time and was in a relationship with Daniel whos 19. we got a 2bedroom place and moved in in january. i was planning to have a home birth and only use gas and air (by the look of some of your birth stories, what was i thinking!) but it didnt happen that way...
at my 24week scan i found out we were havin a little girl, and they said she was a bit small for the amount of weeks i was, but she should put on more weight in the next few weeks. i was called in 2weeks later to have a scan, and they said she was still small so had to go back again in a weeks time. thats were it all started. i was 27weeks and they kept me in with high blood pressure and protien in the urine...signs of pre-eclampsia. i was only in for a night, as my blood pressure went back to normal overnight. i hated every minute of being in hospital! anyway, another week later and i had to have another scan, and thats when they kept me again and didnt let me out! the midwife said she doesnt think i would be out until my baby was born as my blood pressure was sky high and i had 4+ in my urine. i wasnt aloud to do anything apart from sit in my bed! i was constantly monitored and had blood tests everyday. they soon discovered that my placenta wasnt working proply and my baby was slowing stopping growing. a week passed and they came to a decision that my baby had to be delivered...now! i was rushed down to theatre and was awake during the section. thankfully my bf was with me and helped me through it. my baby girl came out crying and wieghed 1lbs 13ozs.
she was kept in SCBU for 7weeks and was allowed home wieghing 3lbs 8ozs and 4weeks before her due date!
shes now 5months old and a healthy 8lbs 6ozs
emergency c-sec at 29wks
