With Laiya I was going for vbac as I had my son by cs because he was breech and really didn't want another cs. I was told that I would not be allowed to go more than seven days over due and therefore when my due date arrived I was booked in for a cs 7 days later. I was not happy because I really wanted a natural birth. 2 days before my cs was booked for my waters went. I went to hospital and they gave me a choice. I could have a cs that evening or they would leave me 24 hours to see if labour started on its own, if it didn't a cs was booked for 5pm the next day. The next day I began with mild contractions at 12noon. By 3.25pm the contractions were strong and about 3 mins apart. I was examined and told I was 5cm dilated. Labour immediately kicked in from that point the urge to push took over me and 3 pushes later Laiya was born at 3.36pm. My labour was recorded as 11 minutes. Very quick indeed - thank goodness I was already in hospital as its a 10 minute drive from home and we would never have made it in time lol
