Default My labour put me off trying for a second baby!

My labour was a nightmare! Despite having a wonderful and beautuiful daughetr at the end of it, I am too scared to get pregnant again.

I very nearly lost my daughter. She was breech and they didn't know as they weren't supervising me properly, well not at all! I ended up in labour for 3 days! In absolute agony! I spent nearly 30 hours out of that in hospital, surrounded by machinery and staff which should have meant it wasn't neccessary for all that pain and worry.

I wasn't given any pain relief at all as they thought I wasn't in labour, despite sweating so much that I had to change my nighties five/six times as they were sticking to me and you could have rung them out. I was on a monitor and the contratcions were so strong they didn't even regeister!

After having a scan they discovered Niamh-Morwenna was not only breech but the cord was caught around her neck.

I ended up having an Emergency C Section and lost alot of blood. The surgeons told me that if we'd got to the theatre even a couple of minutes later than we did, my baby would have not made it as she would have been strangled by the cord.

The worst thing was, my second night in I over heard the Midwives chatting at their station which was opposite my room, I had to be near by because I was so weak and unwell, they were talking about a woman who had lost her baby. The baby was breech!

I know that was some years ago, and these days I would kick up a fuss because of what happened with Niamh-Morwenna, but it makes me feel so nervous!

Aw hun Im sorry you had such a bad experience, but if you got looked after properly it would be such a better experience, Could you maybe go to another hospital? With melissa I had a very bad experience they were horrible, I then had my next two at a different hospital and it was so different so lovely, and thats where im having this one.

I think I am truly lucky! Niamh-Morwenna's heart was also under alot of stress, another reason why it's a miracle she survived.

She's a fighter for sure!

And yes, she is desperate for a sister!

I do sometimes think to myself, well I am in a different area and will be monitored because of what happened. But I panic and have these awful thoughts of it all going wrong again. I know it's silly!

As I am no longer in London yes I will be in a different hospital. I will have to have any other children by Cesarean section I've been told, because of having an Emergency Cesarean under such bad circumstances.....OUCH!
