right it started with contractions on tuesday 5th at 1am, baring in mind Oliver was already 9 days late. i got up and ran a bath, had that then went and sat downstairs feeling rather sick, mum checked i was okay and went back to bed. at 6am i phoned the hospital and told them i was in labour and that as i was coming to the hospital that morning anyway to see the consultant id not go in unless i couldnt cope anymore. well by the time we got to the hospital at 10ish the contractions were as i thought 3 mins apart, but when we got into the consultant it turned out that i was having ones that iwasnt even feeling. he told me to go home relax and come back in the evening unless something happened. well i did that and at 8pm i couldnt stand it anymore so rang and told the hospital i was on my way. df met mum and myself there, we went onto the ward and was shown a bed, they ran tests etc and checked the heartbeat and contractions for an hour or so. then they seemed to just leave us to it. it got to midnight and they told me as nothing was happening i had to go home. so off home again with a bad back that killed me to walk.
so wednesday 6th march, my contractions stopped from all the stress that the hospital had put on me. the day went by and nothing, i was starting to get really worried. come 5pm they had started up again 3 minutes apart as before. i waited til gone 8 30pm to allow my mum to ring the hospital and say i was going in. we got there and was in the next bed along from before. more scanning and being strapped down to monitors for ages, internal exams to say i was still only 3cm dilated. we settled down for the night, that was when i had my first lot of pain relief, pethadine just so i could sleep, but ispent most of the night walking up and down trying to urge things along.
thursday 7th march, 930am i was taken to the delivery suite to have my waters broken......
and the rest will have to wait its 1205am and i must go to bed. |
