when i found out i was pregnant, i couldnt believe it. I was 18, had been with my boyfriend for a year and 9 months, and i quite liked going out on a night with my friends just like anyone else would. So i was quite scared and shocked and wondered whether i wanted to be a mam so young. But as time went on, and i felt the 1st kicks, hiccups, little feet moving across my tummy i knew i couldnt wait to meet my baby!
So anyway, i blame it on a spider. I was 5 days late when i came downstairs around 1am on friday morning, to go to the loo and saw a HUGE spider. Then followed a cramp, then another. And after 30mins of shoutin of the snoring other half to come and get rid of it, i got another. They came and went for 2 days really, really irregularly sometimes pain free for hours.
I woke up at 4 on sunday morning with absolutely horrendous pain, was in the bath at 4.30 and then again at 10 as it was getting steadily worse. The midwife came at 11am for a sweep and said i was nearly 3cm! Wasnt expecting that! Anyway they were coming and going all day then around tea time things got really bad, and at 8pm i could barely move! After pacing up and down the room for ages i finally felt like i wanted some drugs..fast! Haha so we rang the hospital around 10 and they said i had plenty of time even though my contractions were coming every 5mins! After a few tears i was in the oh-so-glam hospital nighty and on the bed by 11.45pm and the midwife said i was 10cm! She then burst my waters and told me to push..no time for pain relief! She didnt even have time to cut me so i had a bit of a bad tear which needed stitches, a drip in my arm and iron tablets-i lost so much blood i was anaemic! I'd go through it all again though, holding my gorgeous lil girl, Erin, was the best moment in my life! My boyfriend is now a very proud daddy and loves her almost as much as i do (only joking, we love her the same hehe)! Shes 10 weeks old now and i cant believe how fast its gone. Not planning anymore yet though, maybe in a good few years time hehe!
