Default bed time routine

i need some help.

how long was your children sleeping at night from 3 months jake only sleep 5 to 6 hours at nite.

jakes bed time rountine

he has a bottle at 6/7pm but doesnt go off to sleep till about 9 and that hard to get him down some times have to take him for a walk.
i then wake him at 10.30 for a nappy change and a bottle. he then wakes at 5am for a bottle and doesnt go back off again till 9.

i have tried giving him a bath b4 bed but that doesnt work any ideas to help make it less stress full.

also do you think i should cut out the 10.30 bottle and see if he will sleep though now. i tried it a couple of weeks ago and he woke up at 1 screaming for his bottle.

as help would be great

Hiya,
Ruby has started going right through the night now but during the day she goes every four hours.
She has her bottle around 8pm i give her a bath and she goes straight to sleep in her moses basket. Then she sleeps until 6:30am.
I've been in my element lol.
Sometimes before that though she would wake up around 3:30am for her dummy.
I thought she was bad because she was going that long but my health vistior said it was ok and Ruby seems fine within herself so wahey i get sleep lol.
How many ounces is your baby drinking during the day
Ann-Marie

Hiya were you say you wake your baby i have never done that with Ruby she shouts when she is hungry. Try and do it were you put him every 4-5 hours for a feed. Try not to go below them hours or you will constantly be feeding him. Around 8ish feed him bath him get him ready for bed and wrap him up in his blanket.
They say not to do that now but it doesn't harm them i do it with Ruby and my mam done it with me.
I hope that makes sense
If not let me know
Hope it helped
Thanks Ann-Marie

i got my 2thru the night quickly by waking them every 4hours for a feed... times were 10, 2 and 6.... and if they woke at 12.. i'd still wake them at 2for a feed!!! never woke them thru the nite tho!! and the reason i still woke them even if they woke themselves was so that their bodies got in2 a routine!! it dint take long and they were going from 10 til 6!!!

u wil find ur own way!! trial and error!!

Im a lucky one. My girl slept 12 hours through the night from 13 weeks old and still does now. I stuck to a routine and it paid off. I call BBB ........Bath, Bottle, Bed! lol

During the night I NEVER woke her for a feed, I let her tell me when she was hungry.

I too was a 6, 10, 2 feeder round the clock. I increased her intake of milk during the day (from 7oz every feed to 9oz) and slowly but surely she dropped the 10pm bottle, then the 2am bottle and just woke at 6am as she was getting all she needed throughout the day.

If she did wake in the night when she wasnt really due a feed I would give her a sip of water and she would go back off. She soon learnt that a sip of water wasnt worth the effort of waking up! They catch on!

Its all trial and error hun, keep trying, you'll get there eventually. xx
