do any of you guys bfeed and use a dummy... i really need somethin to comfort my 3 week old daughter but have been told not to use a dummy as it could confuse the sit.. but if that is the case would expressin not have the same effect
Giving a dummy to a breastfed baby isn't really advised but if you're having terrible trouble pacifying her you can buy specific dummies made for breastfed babies. I did this with mine after breastfeeding was established (about 4-6weeks) and they had no trouble at all. There are also bottles with special teets that act more like a breast when feeding from (as baby has to use the tongue when breastfed and little tongue when bottle fed so this is the action we don't want them to loose). Any good Mothercare store stocks both the dummies and the bottles. Need any more advice feel free to ask. ***
Hey huni...like debi sed its not reely advised....but if u r reely avin it bad then u cud try it... i did wen cassie was a baby and i was breastfeeding too... it was the only way i cud ave a quiet nites sleep... but she does still want it now and she is nrly 3 so i wud try hold out as long as you can....but coz they have no teeth wen they are babies.... that is the thing that dummies affect... thats why im so annoyed that cassie wont go to sleep without it!! hope it works out for you soon so u can get sum sleep...take care ***
