do your children have eating probs?

hi wondered if any 1 mite av any suggestions or advice 4 me,my son whos just turned 4,has eating probs,i know kids go throu phases,wiv likes/dislikes,but this has lasted so long,ive had h/v advice but she wasnt much help.prob is he wont eat an evening meal,and seems to exist on literally nothing,he eats fruit,but will not touch a single vegetable,not even potato or peas,nothing.he will eat oranges an grapes.he wont eat anything
hot at all,no pasta sauces,no fish,no meat,no curries,no baked beans,spaghetti,not anything at all,not even sausages or other kids food,ive even tried him wiv vegetarian dishes but still he sits and cry at every evening meal,and sobs into his plate,its so frustrating,all he eats in aday is bowl cereal wiv milk,marmite sandwich for lunch wiv yogurt and fruit and thats it.im startin to get worried,as hes quite skinny,has tiny waist,i just want him to enjoy food and there not 2 be such an issue wiv it,any advice much appreciated.

i know it sounds silly but have you tried salad, with cold new potatoes and boiled egg.

yeah i would do things like claire has suggester, try him with cold pasta, it could be he is scared, if the food is hot

this may sound like a strange question but does ur boy hate being messy!! as if he does this cud b a sign that he has a food phobia.... may not like the textures of certain foods.... or mayb he is just being extra fussy!!! have u tried a reward scheme? and mayb try and get him to have a spoonful of dinner then he can have a bite/spoonful of something he enjoys and work it that way!!

I have a three year old with I,B,S and it is a nightmare but when he wouldn't eat my h/v told me that even if when we have our evening meal he only eats a bowl of cereal then it dosen't matter but make sure it is whole grain because of the vitamins. Also don't make a big thing of it because if he is getting upset anyway then that will make it worse. If you all eat at the table together then give him at the same time and he might say that he wants to try a spoonful of what your eating and take it from there. hope that helps!!!

My nephew only ate chicken nuggets dairy lea dunkers or beans up until 2 weeks ago when he went on school dinners so he could be like his friends, now he tries all sorts of foods because his friends do.

thanx 4 all your suggestions,have tried the salad and pasta idea already,cos he liked to help prepare it,just didnt like 2 eat it tho.maybe it is a phobia,i know its not cos hes fussy,because theres not a main meal that he likes,often wen hes put food onto spoon he heaves wen it goes up to his mouth,and it cant be my cookin cos every1 else enjoys it!maybe things will get better in sept wen he starts school,and sees every1 else eating and enjoying their food.

i thought my son was the fussiest eater ever!! all he ever wanted was sweats! and his still the same now. dont think i will ever change him, i try a little black mail too like.. "if u dont eat that dinner, ur not playing the nintendo wii, or ps2" and that dont even work !!
