Default Easter bonnet parade

My boys have had a easter assembly this morning, with a easter parade. I came out from school at 10.30am this mornning & it wasn't a minute too soon. It sounds wicked but i was so glad to get out of there. Nursery, reception & year 1 took part in the assembly, but years 2 & 3 sat watching it. I was sat on 2nd row, but no-one could hear the children. The year 2 & 3 children making noise which made matters worse. We could have done with being sat closer to the children so that we could hear them.. It made it quite boring but then the head mistress started talking and she's only got one tone, before we were allowed to speak to our children. They thought they'd done really well & asked if we liked it, which we all answered yes. But we had no idea what had been said by who or even the songs that they sang. We were really fed up when we came out, there was no need for the other children to have been there really. Is it like this at any of your childrens schools?

My son in year 1 had his easter performance today for the parents, but they performed it yesterday (like a dress rehearsal) for nursery, reception and year 2. Much better idea!

our easter performances are lovely and in the church and the classes always take it in turns to perform which works out great-chloe sang a duet with her friend-oh my god never cried so much she always gets songs at christmas she sang silent night also with her best friend cried my blooming eyes out!!!
christmas plays are done by younger ones in our school and the older ones watch the dress rehersal and vice versa when the older ones do the summer concert.
also it is a small school only 72 in total so it never really crowded.

I wish it was like that at our school. It's the largest primary in the area with 3 classes per year!! Its chaos & such a shame for the little ones when you can't hear them.
