Half Ton Hospital

Did anyone see half ton hospital on ITV1 last night. Wow, i have never seen anything like it. The hospital is in America but classed as a rehabilitation centre.The patients were all extremely obese, one chap weighed 55 stone. Many have been diagnosed with obsessive eating disorder. It was contraversial because the patients are only offered diet & exercise to loose weight, but patients were able to have take away food delivered to the hospital. Its madness if they want to vheat they can & many have been there for ages. The chap who weighed 55stone had been there for over two years & hadn't lost an ounce, at the end it showed him again, his air ways had collapsed due to the pressure from his weight. He was only 34 years old.

yes its so sad. One chap was a ex patient who re admitted himseld, he said that there needs to be more support when you leave because when you leave you are surrounded with temptation. Most of the patients knew they were slowly killing themselves but just couldn't help themselves. One had a large swelling on his one leg. They said the swelling weighed 5 stone & he needed to really loose some weight for it too ease. The only other answer was amputation but he weighed 39 stone so i'mguessing it would be a no no because of the risk under anaesthetic.

its horrible!!! did u see that charlie.. on this morning.. last year!!! he's such an inspiration for all!!! he weighed 44stone.. cud barely move and he lost like 30 stone just by healthy eating and exercise!!! he also ran the london marathon too!!!! he's certainly an amazing man!!!

That is amazing, full credit to the bloke its hard to loose a few pounds let alone tens of stones
