Help

me and my partner want to start trying for a new baby soon, but theres a big problem is my son ben is a complete nightmare at night time, he has been a bad sleeper since he was about 9 months old. he get up at least 3 times on a good night and on a bad night it can be impossible to get him back to sleep. i have tryed everything books, controlled crying (i hated thant). have been to health visitors and they werent very helpful, i have even tryed punishing him by taking treats away from him. also tryed reward charts still no luck. the thing is i dont want to bring a new baby into this routine.

ANYONE GOT ANY TIPS TO TRY AND HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM

well hun what daz & i do with ben is give him his drink before bed get him to bed let him choose a story then after the story ask him how his days been who he's seen etc! then we have to do what my mum & dad had to do with me we sit there until he's fallen asleep or we put his little stereo on with his story cd's!

oh hun... i really dont kno!! sounds like u'v tried so many!!! all i kno is that my friends lil' boy was just like that and it wasnt til he started full time school this jan that now finally he sleeps from bout half6 rite the way thru!!! so least u kno there will b an end!! :-)

I let Ruby watch Tv for half hour then go and put on her Barney Cd and she knows it is bedtime and time to goto sleep. Took a while for her to get into the routine. If she wakes up in the night I press play on the music settle her bak down and she is fine again.

Although there seems no end now I am sure he wil settle down eventually xx Good luck with it ll hun xx

my son is the same and hes 4,did help when he started skol but he still wakes up a couple of times,we do the reward chart sometimes it helps,we put a tv and dvd in his room and thats helped loads coz now wen he wakes we press play and wen weve turned round hes a sleep,keep trying you will find something that works,good luck

my emma is the same she was 5 yesterday but still wakes at night lookin for drinks and then she has this constant winging period tht drives me nuts... I have tried everything as well

I wld maybe wait till he is more settled hun then try for a baby or maybe talk to him and find out why he wont sleep, maybe he is havin little nightmares or somethin
