i got married in june of last year and had given up for around 4 months before hand but as soon as i got to gatwick airport (we married abroad) i thought sod it this is my week and im going to enjoy it, im not going to be suffering and struggling around people who smoke, with that i pinched a fag off of my friend and that was it.
i didnt bring any duty free back with me as i told myself as soon as i get back to england im going to give up again but it wasnt as easy as that, i thought oh ill just buy 10, every day was 10 then they werent lasting and by 9pm i was nipping out to the garage to get more, the 20s then came and that was it a full time smoker again!!!
i then decided to give up again when i found out i was preg this time round, i knew i could do it before and this time i had a good excuse, that was september last year and here i am now still a non smoker
im very poud of myself one for giving up and two for just using my will power, its easy when you know how

A good tip, drink lots of FRESH orange juice, or anything else with vitamin c, and drink lots of water. Apparently it washed the nicotine out of your system a lot quicker.

I gave up in 1998, admittedly have had some crafty ones inbetween, but haven't have one in over a year tops. Using the tip above it helped me.

The first week is hard with the withdrawal of nicotine and the cravings, but after that its just the habits formed thats hard to kick,, like the cigs with a cup of tea etc. Try changing your habits. Someone advised me to drink tea with a saucer, hold the saucer in one hand and cup with the other, that way both your hands are occupied.

Everytime you crave a cig, drink a glass of water.

I quit 18 months ago. My best tip is to have a really anti smoking boyfriend! They really help you give up. Haven't even fancied one for a year.
