Default Introducing Siblings

Morning girls,

Wasn't sure where to post this question, but i was just wondering how the introduction of a sibling went for you ladies, i already have a little girl who is 22 months and the little fella is due 16th April.
I plan for Ella to have as much involvement with him as possible, but was just wondering what sorts of things other mums have found when they introduced another bubs.
Sleeping is probably my biggest worry at the minute for Ella.

Any ideas or tips much appreciated.

Bonnie x

hi there Bonnie.. and welcome to the site..

I had my daughter Jessica in 2000 and I was shocked to discover I was havin Emma then a couple of years later.. I thought Jess wld have been upset by the fact I was having another baby but she was at such a young age at the time tht she was fine.. she didnt get jealous and helped me with emma and always wanted to hold her... its only now they are older they fight lol...

my advice wld be to sit Ella down and explain u are havin a little brother for her and she can help mummy with him when ever she wants... dont discourage her from not being involved as she will get jealous... also u may find tht when ppl bring a present for the new arrival some may bring Ella one as well.. my mates done tht and so Jess didnt feel left out..

hope this helps hun and good luck ***

Hi, i have 3 children there is 22 months between eldest & middle one then 20 months between middle one & youngest. When i had Alfie i let lewis help out & get as involved as possible & things went fine. I did the same with lewis & Alfie when i had leah & they really thought they were the bees knees by helping etc. I'm sure it will all be fine

There is 23 months between my two. Just before Louis was born I bought Ruby a doll and all the kit like a bath, highchair and pram so that she could give her baby a bath whilst I bathed Louis and so on.

I let her hold him whenever she asked and was sure not to be too protective with him, hes nine weeks now and she doesnt really bother with him (unless he's got a dummy and she cant find hers lol) she loves him to bits now and kisses him before she goes anywhere, she a little mum to him lol!
