Well as all hell borke loose in my house today. the enginerr & quality manager turned up stripped my boiler to bits cleaned it all thoroughly & hey presto it's now fully functioning hooray. My livingroom was full of dust particles & soot. The only problem we had was the ventilation in livingroom, the air vent had cardboard glued to it leaving no ventilation in livingroom !!! The manager got a camera & took pics because british gas have serviced boiler every year & it's always passed but beacuse of this find on air vent it seems that it should have failed!!!! Thats 3 years of services to my knowledge alone!! Also the guy that came on Monday faces the sack because he left boiler as it was & it was emitting small amount of carbon monoxide! the manager was seething & at one point told a fellow manager on his phone they were lucky it was him here & nmot a leagl team. So with this coming to light we'll have to see whether our tiredness & headaches/migraines were just that or a result of pour very faulty boiler. We have bought a carbon monoxide detector from them today for £38 in case we have trouble in future with it.
It would seem that thanks to engineer who came yesterday & again with manager today, we've had a very lucky escape. I will be writing 2 letters to britsh gas, One of praise for engineer & one of complaint for all the errors that have occurred!! |
