Default please help me

i am at my wits end and i really need your help. my daughter is 3 (she'll be 4 in june) and she is really sick. she had what i thought was a flu bug on sat but apart from being all snotty with a cough she was ok really. i took her to the docs on tues just to get her checked out and all he said was that she had to blow her nose!! since then she has not eaten anything, only drank water, and she just keeps sleeping. she has a bit of a temp but nothing to worry about. she won't talk to me, she just pulls away and tells me to go away! she just sits there and says nothing, and sleeps loads and i really don't know what to do! can anyone shed any light on this for me?

I would keep a really close eye on her - make sure no rashes appear - and alternate giving her calpol and nurofen every 2 hours. If she doesn't eat or hasn't improved after 48 hours, I'd take her straight back to the doctor. Hope she's ok, good luck, ***.

If you use calpol, you can use nurofen alongside it as they contain different ingredients. That way you can get twice as much into her and hopefully get her better quicker without giving her an overdose! She can have 4 doses of each in 24 hours (so having 8 lots of medicine instead of 4). It's really worth doing if she's so poorly, and make sure she continues to drink. Flat lemonade is quite good as it will help to keep her sugar levels up (and it's a nice treat when you're not well). I really hope she's ok, but you know her better than anyone - take her back to the doctor and don't let them fob you off if you're really worried. ***

i phoned the doc and he said there was no way he would come out! so i took her to the walk in centre at a local hospital and they said they wouldn't treat her as she had been seen by a gp in the week! so i took her to accident and emergancy. they thought she might have meningitus so kept her in and checked her loads. thankfully she does not have that and she is much better already. she just needs to rest and drink plenty of fluids. thanx to you all for your concerns
