Ne one ever have agruments with ppl about the fact tht u are a house wife as such and live of Benefits? I had one once and was so ready to kill the person even tho it was in a chat room at the time... she was complaining to me tht she was the one who had to work in order to keep me and my kids fed and clothed I thought 'WTF! WHO DOES SHE THINK SHE IS ... I didnt ask her to work and I sure as hell didnt ask to live on benefits but i cant go back to work even if I wanted to cos of the illnesses Emma suffers from.... It aint my fault or ne one elses for tht matter if u cant work or have to recieve income support or Job seekers etc

Is ne one else a mum on benefits and ever had some person say tht they shldnt be on it...

Yeah! I've had loads say that! Like I'm scum or something! I want to see my babies do they're first things, not miss it! Anyway, people don't understand the full story, You've said you couldn't work and I would only find certain people who'd be willing to employ me with me having crohn's. It's maddening!

im not a mum but i am on benefits due to health. ive had so many ppl call me lazy, and say there is no reason y i should not go get a job.some ppl are so up there own arses,and think ppl on benefits are just soooooo lazy.i hate it when they say we pay tax to keep u on benifets,sometimes u feel like saying y dont u sod off and stay out of my face. god they get to me so much.

well all i can say is bollocks to everyone else it's my life i gave up my career to have a child & he comes first before any job. i'm luckey enough to be in the postion not to be on benifits as daz brings home a good wage but i don't think it makes any difference if you do get benifits at the end of the day the hardest yet most rewarding job is being a mother & housewife!!!

i dont get benefits and dont hold anything against genuine people who r on benefits!!!!! but wot do annoy me is people who are benefit frauds... and yes that annoys me wen i see some people around me getting their rent, council tax, etc paid for them... plus money in their pocket and then they r out secretly working and getting cash in hand.. then there is me and james.. get nothing except child benefit... and struggling on a day to day basis!!!! and yes we r paying tax and some of this is going to these frauds... now that annoys me... but like i said genuine people i dont even think bout coz one day that may b me an thats wot the benefits r there 4,to help genuine people!! :smile:

Housewives don't get weekends and bank holidays off. We can't say I'm sorry dear I'm on holiday I'm not feeding/dressing you, or it's my day off I'm not washing your uniform/overalls. It's a constant job with no time off and rubbish pay!

i think that it's down to individual choice & cases. Genuine ppl who recieve benefits are fine & in need of them for 1 reason or another. What really annoys me are ppl who aren't genuine. A neighbours daughter is such a case. She is 24/25 with a 6 year old son. She hasn't done a thing since leaving school, no jobs or further education. She lived with her mum up until about 12 months ago. She has all her bills paid & is always buying new clothes. She has the nerve to tell me how lucky iam to b married with 3 children & work part time!! I have to work nights because child care costs are way too expensive & stu's wages are too high to claim any benefits. He has to work 13 hour days 5 days per week to keep the roof over our head. I go to work for a bit of pocket money for us all.God she makes me mad I know this probably sounds really bad & don't want to cause offence to anyone, but we'd b better off if we didn't work. We are lucky to have jobs & healthy children so have no intention of being frauds to get ahead if you get me :smile: Benefits are there for a reason, not to be abused like some ppl do. Take no notice of what some ppl say they are just ignorant

I have to agree there. Some people do abuse it. As soon as Angel is at nursery I will get a part-time job and then as soon as she's at school I will get a full-time job. Theres a lady near us and she's got 5 kids, she says they've all got brittle bones to get disability and it's an excuse not to work, the children climb trees (wouldn't let mine climb trees if they had brittle bones!!) and the youngest hangs out of his bedroom window ,their little terrors. And they go to the pub all day and night! Now that's what I call sponging!!!
