Terrible 2s truth or myth?

Hiya guys, I was just wondering if anyone out there is a first time mum and their little one is 2 or coming up 2, and if they have gone from being little angels, to little monsters. If so how are you coping? Or if you have gone through it how you got through it. Don't get me wrong my lil man is still as beautiful as ever and his beaming smile could light up any room, but he really has got a case of 'when he's good he's very good but when he's bad he is a gremlin!' and I am finding it a litltle tough at times, especially near the end of the day. I do run my own business and am about to move so I'm guessing this is part of the problem for me, but is the terrible 2s true or just a myth?

i dont have any children but i do believe in terrible twos. my nephew was a total bugger as soon as he reached two now hes three hes not as bad.

hahaha believe me its true i'm very strict on benjamin as the girls will tell you but omg lately he's been a little sod pusshing me to the limits yesterday whilst i was having a wee he decided to smash my eggs on the kitchen floor.!!!! funny now but was not amused so yes i don't think its anything to do with a myth i think its true & its certainly not the parenting skills as god forbid both myself & daz are strict on him!!! well good luck chick ben has only recently been like this & he's 3 in september so i'm hoping this stage will be over with!!!

it is totally true my little boy is 3 now and hes a terrible 3 lol the night b4 he turned 2 he had the biggest paddy ever he threw himself all ova screamed and cried all night and never went to sleep till after 12 which was actually his second brithday we couldnt belive it but in my experiance rileys got naughtier with aage lol

it is very true... they say terrible 2s can start as early as 18months and go til they r about 3.. lets just say i have 2children going thru the terrible 2s and its a nightmare!! u just have to find ur way of controling the tantrums b4 they get out of hand... be consistent wit ur disciplining as this will let the child kno they can only push u so far!! i think kids go thru terrible 2s just to test the boundaries... and also becoz this is wen they start feeling a bit independant so want to do everything!! once u find ur way tho its fine!!

Im sure i will find out soon enough Ruby is 15months and just starting to have a p[addy when she cant get her own way, but i never give in cos otherwise she will think she has won and I am the boss!!

OMG You don't know how good it is to hear you all saying that. I honestly started to believe I was doing something wrong. I do know I need to find a way of letting him know he's being naughty but I ust feel so damn guilty after. Don't get me wrong I've never smacked him but just shouting at him is bad enough. My mum wasn't the best in the world and I worry every day that Ollie will think the same about me.

I feel the same sometimes it feels like i'm forever saying no. Then he really really cries, and i feel so gulity.

I didn't believe it, Melissa turned 2 and was an angel, she turned 3 and was still an angel, but then she turned 3 and a half and she became a right little s***, she poured shower gel in all ellie-mays shoes, turned the bedroom literally upside down and paddied constantly!! Luckily it's stopped. Ellie-May got the terrible 2's when she was about 18mths, but hers wasn't as bad as Melissas and didn't last as long. Roll on Angels turn!
