people who has to go 1 better!

i have a mate who always has to go one better then me with everything,like lifes one big competition!
my partner and i wanted to move from our flat to a house,so she made so she rented before us then we had our son corey so she got pregnant and called hers harvey,then we bought new sofas so she bought leather ones,then a new tv so she bought a bigger one .its been like this for years now and she was a really good mate at one point.
im starting my driveing lessons this month so guess what,shes starting hers now.
i have got to the point were i cant even be bothered with her anymore.i think its so pathetic why do people try to make u feel crap and worthless when ur just tring to get on with ur life?

have you thought about just not telling her that your doing stuff some people do like the competion and think they have to get one over on people all the time though its a bit sad really like u say, but hey if she feels she has to do better than you all the time then doesnt that say something?!

That would annoy me too! I guess it could be seen as flattering as she loves everything u have n do she has to do the same thing. The same happened with my hubby n his best mate but with their businesses. They worked for the same company then gaz left n set up on his own, so did mark. Gaz bought an office, so did mark. He was even using the same company to advertise etc and asking how to do certain things. In the end we just never told him anything we were doing, n stopped speaking to him gradually. The friendship has faded over time n the copying has stopped. I guess u should stop speaking 2 her as much n maybe she will get fed up!!
