lost my baby

I am 13wks pregnant now and i found out 6 weeks ago i was having twins...this terrified me because i already have a daughter who is nearly 2 but within 2 or 3 days i got used to the idea and started imagining what they would be like and getting excited about them. Unfortuntly when i went back to the hospital the week after (for what i was told was a routine chek-up) and i was told that there was only one heartbeat. This was heartbreaking to hear as anyone who has been in this situation will know but one consolation to me is that i still have one healthy baby growing inside me. I went for yet another scan yesterday and found out that the surviving baby is strong and healthy and everything looks normal but im still devastated to think that there should be two.

I know i should be grateful that even the one baby is healthy but i cant help feeling sad about the baby i lost. These days now i am paronoid that im going to loose the other baby to even tho the doctor told me that i am at no higher risk than any other pregnant woman.

If anyone can give me any advice on this i would be extremely grateful ***

not alot i can say hun im sorry for your loss but sometimes things happen for a reason even if we dont understand what that reason is.

Aww i'm so sorry for your loss. It must be hard coming to terms with it, I guess you just have to be grateful for the one baby that is fine and healthy, take care x

Congrats on your pregnancy tho...hope all is well! i know there must be a reason...if the baby was healthy this wouldn't have happened

Sorry to hear your news. Although this is a tough time for you, you need to try and stay strong for both yourself and the little bundle of joy you are still carrying. I am a big believer that these things happen for a reason and are sent to test us.

hi,im really sorry for what youv been through,but i think you have the righht idea,be happy for what youv got.x i lost a baby myself in pregnancy,and i know it aint easy...time will be a healer.

Hi, I lost a baby at 11weeks so i i do understand how it feels,and my best friend is currently pregnant too. The EXACT same thing happened to her. She had a scan at 9weeks was told there was two. at 12 weeks there was one. She is now 18/19 weeks and fine. She has her 20 weeks scan in 2 weeks. She was like you at first upset,confused and panicking about the one thats fine. But shes over it time is a healer just look after yourself and don't do heavy lifting etc. Just concentrate on this baby and you will be fine. You will never 4get the other baby, i like about mine all the time, that i shud have him in my arms now and things but just be strong and let things out if you need too xx xx

hi hun sorry about your loss i have not personaaly experienced a loss of that nature but mayb one died to save the other. there is always ppl round if u wanna talk xx

Oh huni, so sorry about your loss... I hope that the other baby will stay strong and keep going until you give birth...
