Pain in stomach
Just in need of some advise please. I was up in the night last night with a really sharp pain in my stomach. I managed to get back to sleep and woke up this morning with the pain still here. I was sick this afternoon and now my stomach seems bloated if not a bit swollen
I'm just a bit worried as to what it could be. I've taken paracetamol but it has had no effect. Anybody had a similar thing or know anything I could take to ease the pain?! Thanks ***

Re: Pain in stomach
It is still here now, gone a little bit better but still kills like mad. Been sick a few more times and the swelling seems to have gone worse, its almost looks like im pregnant in the bottom of my stomach lol!! Never had anything like this before, Phoned the doctors this morning and the soonest appointment they've got is thursday morning....typical as it will have probs gone by then!! If it is still as bad as this on wednesday i will have to go to a&e as I can't carry on in this state x

Re: Pain in stomach
I had something similar about 5 years ago, really bad pain, but it kept coming back and each time got worse till I was rushed to the hospital and had to stay for 3 days, for tests and scans and stuff, I then got booked in for an I thinks its called and endoscopi, where they put the little camera in you tummy. But in the meantime I got pregnant with Alfie and never got it again, they thought it was a little cyst on my overy at first but a scan ruled it out so never found out what it was. Never had it since though either, if it is really painful and the doc wont c u till thursday, go to A & E just to get it checked out, you have to many kids to look after to do it in pain mate. If its nothing then at least you know and they can give you something till it goes away. Take care of yourself and catch up soonxx

Re: Pain in stomach
Well I took your advice girls and I went to A&E today as I couldn’t bear it any longer. They were quite worried about my symptoms as they said they were quite serious and took me down to have some scans straight away. I’ve got a cyst on my ovary that has become filled with fluid, causing the swelling of my stomach. They said that they would normally provide me with some medicine to stop the pain as it would go away in time. However, typically my luck, I’ve not just got a cyst, I’ve got a twisted cyst, and a twisted cyst needs surgery!!! So, I’ve got to go in hospital tomorrow to have the surgery. As it is only one ovary that is affected they are going to remove the ovary, instead of just the cyst as everything still works with just one. I have to stay in for a few days after to check everything is ok. It’s going to feel weird going into hospital – only ever been in to have my children, quite worried actually. Will get back on here when I’m home and let you know how I’ve got on. Take care everyone ***

Re: Pain in stomach
Thanks girls. I'm not looking forward to the op but I'm looking forward to the break, even if I am very bored! It will be nice to not have to be cooking or cleaning or ironing or doing any of that stuff even if its only for a few days!! I will be itching to be up and about though from never stopping whilst I'm at hope - it will be a bit weird! x

Re: Pain in stomach
Well I'm back and it all went well. Came out this morning which is a nice feeling to be back home. I'm quite sore and am finding it hard to do things, especially with the kids. I've been told to take it easy for a few weeks so as much but I'm itching to do stuff and I can't as it hurts! Guess I'll just have to make the most of it hehe! Well I thought I'd just let you know I'm ok Hope you are all well x
