Default PCOS and trying to conceive

I've got Polycystiv Ovary Syndrome and I want another baby. I've had it since I was a teenagers, but I was able to conceive fast with my other three children. This time however it is not happening. I went to see a specialist and she said that she thinks I could conceive naturally but i need to loss weight first. That's another long story, It's just not happening at the moment.
Does anyone know of anything naturally that can help, by which I mean homeapathy, alternitive medicine?

Hi, I don't know if this will help you but I read an article in the Sunday magazine about TTC and having PCOS, it was about a woman who visited a site which specialises in diets for people with PCOS. She now has a little girl! The website is www.vitaline-slimming.com don't know if it will help but good luck.

Hi! have recently been looking into PCOS and the general idea is go to your doctor and if you tell them that you are trying for a baby then they will probably prescribe the birth control pill to regulate your periods then maybe something like clomiphene citrate (Clomid). in the meantime you could be trying the charting method to see if you can pinpoint when exactly you ovulate ( try this ? http://www.fertilityfriend.com/ )
let me know how you get on!!!

Thanks for the advice everyone. I tried the vitaline diet last year and found it really hard to stick to, I lost over a stone but when i came off it I put all the weight came back on again.
I don't want to go back on the pill because it really does not agree with me, makes me suicidal, put weight on, etc.... I went to a consultant and she said that i should first loss weight and if in 6 months time I still have not conceivedshe will try some fertility treatment. So in the mean time I'am on a GI diet now and going to the gym at least three times a day and walking loads, so fingers crossed for me!!!

i too suffer with PCOS badly. I also had a part of my cervix removed when I was 18 after a smear test revealed I had Pre-cancerous cells. They told me the chances of me conceiving naturally were virtually zero. Here I am 31 years old with a 6month old. It can happen, try and keep yourself positive. Good luck chick.

Iv had Polycystic Ovaires when I was 18 or 19... cant really remember. I remember my period stoped for like 6 months and I thought I was pregnant because I was seeing this guy. So I went doctors and told them what was up... they did tests and confirmed that I wasnt pregnant but had Polycystic Ovaires. When they did a scan to see them they said I had about 15-20 on each Ovaire. The pain was horrible. I hated it. I then went into hospital and had them removed. I am now 24 and have had a period since. Which is a good thing because we are trying for our first child. We have been trying now for maybe a month now... I dont really have any advice for you but just wanted to let ya know ya not alone with the Polycystic Ovaires becauase I know when I had it I was so alone and had no one who understood how I felt and what I was going thru. )
