What the HELL is this?!

Hi all. I have a slightly (ok, VERY) gross question to ask...

So I was at work today and I went to the bathroom and thre was a GUSH of this really dark discharge from my vagina(like steak sauce :shock: ). It was liek a heavy flow for a second then it stopped (so I guess it was built up all day/afternoon and let out all at once). My question: is this just old blood? My period ended exactly 7 days ago but I have had weird twingie cramps on the sides (ovarian cramps?) and one round of in-the-middle cramps where it felt like period cramps a few days ago. I hadn't thought too much of them but this today scared the shit out of me. Any ideas? I already have an appointment to see the gyno soon but I'm still worried there might be something wrong in there..

I forgot to mention that I have a 33-day cycle...I don't know if that means anything in relation to this though...
