Default beagles

Does any1 have one? Its a dog I've always wanted and finally we are getting one.. well after the wedding, but been researching them and apparently they bark... A LOT! was wondering if any1 knew how easy it is to train them not to? Failing that Puggles are absolutely adorable also good with kids and dont bark as much as beagles so that wld b my 2nd choice lol.

Hi
Beagles are naturally working dogs and take a lot of committment. Dont just get one cos they look cute!!
They can be destructive if not given enough physical and mental stimulation and this could also lead to excessive barking.

They need a lot of training especially if you want it to go off lead cos they tend to see a rabbitt or wahtever and just follow it!!! That is their natural instinct.

Not a dog for a first time owner imo :-)

Hi there, I have a lovely beagle called Charlie - he is the light of my life! We are first time dog owners and have found him to be very funny. We have broken every rule in the book (without knowing it). Charlie just fits into family life like a glove. We live in the countryside and would never consider letting him off the lead - too many pheasants and rabbits however we live near the coast and he is safe off the lead at the seaside. He could do all the necessary things really quickly - sit, stay (with no wildlife around) and was house trained in a week of having him. I hope this helps
