bad tantrums

my sisters son is 3 and he throws really bad tantrums he. he stops breathing and and goes all floppy. but now my son kyle has started doing copying him he is 14months old and i dont know what to do everyone tells my sister to just leave her son layin on the floor for him to learn he cant get his own way buy doing it but i dont know what to do with kyle with him been so young has anyones kids done this and have you got any advice for me ?

oh dear thats a tricky one!! mayb wen ur sis boy do it u talk to kyle and say wot a silly and naughty boy he is being.. so then mayb he'l pick up that its not the way to act!! apart from that im not really too sure!! u'l find ur way wit him soon tho!!

my baby has just turned 1 and everytime he cant get his oiwn way he kicks and screams but ignore it and put him back into position am i ryt to do that

yes i dont c why not!! temper tantrums r usually a childs way of letting out their frustration but if u pander to them u then find that they do it 4attention too! so i think ur doing the rite thing!!

and only time will tell.... u kno ur child best so do wot works 4u!!

my eldest used to have really bad tantrums banging head on floor hold breath i used to go in different room and let her get on with it. I just kept eye on things but usually with not having an audience she stopped within a minute. I mentioned it to doctor and stuff and said it was the right way and not to worry about the hold breath part as u cannot stop yourself breathing.

yes i agree there, just ignore them then speak to them again when there being good if there very young then save them from themselves by diverting there attention to something else.... lets face it, its all you can do really!

My mum used to have the same problems with my younger brother, he used to blue and it really scared her so off they went too the docs but he said there was nothing to worry about cos my bro would breathe eventually. She says it helped if she blew in his face Im sure he will grow out of it eventually. :smile:

my mum used to have a nightmare wit me!! i had terrible tantrums!! once i even tied a robe belt round a door handle and around my neck and started throwing the door open so it was strangling me!!! my mum completely ignored me and i stopped wen it started hurting!! hehe or just coz no1 was takin any notice!!! ha ha haha... altho i must have been bout 7years old!!! isnt that awful!!!! laughn
