Default nappy changes

my little boy is one on the 16 of nov and its getting incresingly difficult to change his nappy ( and i mean its proper tantrum kind of stage now) and i just can not cope any more with it. its getting me to the point that i am screaming and shouting for him to just lie still but he just wont. i have tryed everything i can think of but im now out of ideas and stressed out to the max. iv tryed singing, giving him toys (a different one every time in the end), giving him food, his bottle, vasaline on his fingers, nappys to play with, talking and playing, pull up nappys (and they aint good with poo it was everywhere) and iv even tryed doing it standing up but nothing is working please please help me as i am about to explode.

oh huni... sounds like ur not havinga good time of it at all!! i'v neva experienced this but i found that rewarding good behaviour worked better than telling off bad behaviour!! so if u can find a way of praising him this cud help!! erm.... this is quite a hard one actually.... coz he has to be good to get praised and by sounds of things he's not giving u the chance!! maybe a star chart.... let him kno he'l get something special if he lets u change his nappy....

if i think off anything else that u may b able to try i'l put it up here!!

u'l get there hun... and try not to shout as this will just make him worse... as he'l feed of ur anger and stress... try to stay as calm as possible.. then wen u'v finished changing his bum go outside and scream!!! mayb getting no reaction will stop the bad behaviour... so dont even talk to him before or during the nappy change!!!....

thank you so much for replying its been a big weight off just people to talk to.
well today he has been as good as gold for me on all nappy changes but not for my mum, she tried about 4.30 ish and he got wound up to the max again and i just walked off dont know what he made off it but it didnt stop him.
we will see what hes like after his bath tonight, im hoping if i lighten up about it and be brighter then he might think its not such a bad thing after all. i swear im going to have to try a potty when it warms up again next year.
thanks again xx take care xx

it's hard beacuse of his aged really. I can fully understand how you're feeling though, it'll probably just be phase he's going through. You could try to make it a bit of a game etc or let him pick a nappy etc. Have you tried pull up style nappies
