Default She's starting to listen

Amy's behaviour is improving a lil bit-she is actually listening to me over the last few days well most of the time anyway...Long story but here goes...the naughty step didnt work for us at all, i just think she didnt understand what i was doin to her so she would just stand up and start looking at the pictures on the wall etc. so ive started explaining things to her...if she does something bold now i dont shout or give out i just sit down wit her and explain why she shouldn't do that thing and how/why i dont like it. Im shocked that its actually working...my friend thinks that its just that i baby her and dont actually tell her why certain things are naughty. She hit my sister the other day and we didnt make a big deal of it i just sat her down and explained that my sis didnt like being hit and that it hurt her and straight away Amy went over and said sorry and gave her a big hug. Amy has started to hate going into her buggy but the other day when i tried to strap her in she started the usual kicking and screaming (sometimes you'd think she was being battered cuz of the way she cries) but i took her out, sat her down and explained that we where only going out for a few minutes and i promised she could come out straight away when we go back...shocked she sat in and actually let me strap her without a sound. So im glad to say that now that iv started telling her things and explaining things to her i can see a change in her...im so delighted with her.

Oh yey! Good for you hun! Thats what I do with Ebony. I find it much better than shouting. She understands a bit more now and when she is really playing up I ask her if she wants to go to bed, then she normally does what ever Ive asked her to do. Haha! But I do prefer explaining to her why we have to do something, my fella sometimes thinks Im soft with her but Id rather to that than order her around and her not knowing why. Good on ya sweetie
