she screeches!!

my eldest is coming up 2 in november, shes always been good until she got an ear infection shortly after jess was born. since then she screeches and hits people on the head, it isnt hard and unless she has something in her hand she doesnt hurt anyone but the frequency is getting worse. i never hit and dont shout just tell her 'no that hurts' 'ouch' which usually results in her giving me a hug and saying hello very angellically to whoever has been on the recieveing end.

i asked my hv what i should do about this, she said to ignore her bad beahviour and really praise the good, and whoever is on thew bad end of her hitting or screaming, to make a huge fuss of them and ignore her.
but what do i do if its someone elses kid? they want there mum not me giving them a cuddle?!

its not the worst case in the world but i want to stop it before it gets worse

I know what your going through, Amy got a terrible temper a few weeks back-always hitting and shouting at people especially kids but everyone is telling me its just the age and she will grow out of it but it doesnt make it any less embarrasing if she does it in public and to other kids like she usually does. What i found has worked for us is when she does hit someone or does something that she souldnt do, i sit her dont and explain to her what she did and why she shouldn't do it like that it hurts people or makes them feel sad,and most of the time she says sorry or blows the person a kiss. i thought amy was too young to understand this but she atually does and your eldest isnt much younger than her so maybe it will work with her too. Amy still hits and shouts at people but there is a big improvment in her behaviour since i started explaining why she cant do it. Hope this helps x
