Sometimes I feel out of my depth

Hiya guys, I have 3 step children. 2 boys (17yrs and 12yrs) and 1 girl (15yrs) they are great kids but at 25 years old some times I feel out of my depth.
They dont live with us but come down when ever they want - which is fine with us, the more times we see them the merrier, our two year old loves seeing them and they are great baby sitters! lol
Im lucky I suppose as we hardly have anything to do with his Xwife who divorced like 8 years before I came on the scene but if there is a problem I find it hard on knowing how to handle it. I treat them more as my friend or auntie as Im closer to their age than I am my husbands and wouldnt want to feel I am dictating to them but sometimes I feel I should tell them how I feel but Im scared they will take the knock and not come round for a bit (which they do a lot when their dad says somet - which is very very rare) plus I dont want to come across like Im trying to be their mother, as I certainly dont want to and neither do they. We have a great relationship and my husband supports me in what ever I want to do but sometimes I feel a lil out of my depth with it all.

im in pretty much the same situation, my boyfriend has 5 kids, 3 girls(18, 13 &6) and 2 boys (14 & 9) and it is very hard work, but there mam is also a pain in the backside. i feel like im trying to be the kids friend rather than act with more authority, i dont want 2 act likie a mum, far from it. but i feel like i have no control in my own house. i cant tell the kids off coz they go straight to there mum n tell her what ive said and then that causes problems. it can get a lil frustrating but i also know that i wont let this come between me and my man. its more the ex than the kids in our relationship tho. x
