Anemic!!!

Well today I got a letter thru the post saying I'm anemic from the doctor's and to go see my GP and get some iron tablets and to get blood tests in a couple of weeks. Iv looked up information online to inform myself as to whats going on and was wondering if anyone else has had it during their pregnancy's or has it now while pregnant?!? Can it be bad for the baby? Just any information you have can help me as some of the stuff I am reading online is way over my head. lol Thanks!

I have no idea hun Im afraid, Ive never suffered with it before. I thinks its quite common in pregnancy though.xx

hi chick! dont worry about it,its very common in pregnancy.usually people only get it mildly.i wouldnt worry too much.i was anemic when i was a teenager,and for me it made me feel week and stuff,but nothing too serious...your docter should be able to sort it in a flash!!!good luck!!x

I had that with both my kids. I'm naturally anemic so I got it pretty terrible when pregnant.

The iron tabs are hard on your tummy so eat something with them, but don't drink milk with it! Milk makes your tummy feel so much better because it blocks you absorbing the iron which makes the tab pointless.
You might want to take some fiber with it too.
Start having a spinach salad every day. It's full of iron and won't wreck your stomach.

They never could bring my level up to normal, but both my girls turned out ok. Just be careful about lightheadedness.
