Default Feeling anxious

Some of you may respond to this with " Whats the matter with her, it will be fine", but others may sympathise.

I have a 19 month old daughter who is the love of my life. I am 12 weeks pregnant with baby number 2 also.

Im am feeling so anxious about having two children so close together. My daughter will be 25 months when the baby is born.

I have to be honest here and admit that I found the first few months of motherhood the hardest in my life and Im worried I will again only this time having to cope with a toddler too!

I know people do it all the time and with closer gaps, but Im really starting to worry about it. People keep telling me that everything will all fall into place once the new baby arrives but Im so sorried that I wont be able to cope.

Did anyone else fell like this?

xx

Ur not alone there chick, I had a touch of PND after naomi, then while I was pregnant with tommy i had ante natal depression, it was quite serious, a really didnt think i could cope wen the new baby was born especially as my family dnt talk 2 me and my partner works 6 days a week!! Tommy was born wen Naomi was 22 months, and am not goin 2 lie it was quite hard, but wat i did was during the pregnancy was make naomi feel involved so i didnt hav a jealous toddler 2 deal with aswell, so wen he was born she was really helpful, (getting a nappy, bottle, bib, etc) and it made her feel good that she was helping mummy!! it'll take a while but once u get into ur own little routine evrything will get better!!
(sorry its so long)

Hi ya, my daughter was just 2 when my son was born and everyone said I was mad but it was fine! Both were in nappies for the first year but both had same routine, dinner, bath n bed etc so it was ok. They are now 9 & 7 and have a close relationship and I would do things exactly the same again, you'll be fine x

Thanks for the reassuring advice ladies.

I have already tried to begin to prepare my daughter for the new arrival. I brought her a dolly with a bottle, nappies and it wees etc, you know the kind and I get her involved with the changing of the doll and pretending to feed the doll etc. I just want her to try and understand a little bit what its all about. When the doll wees she sits it on her potty, (so funny) something she has not mastered yet and I dont expect her to for a while yet. She fetches the baby wipes and the clothes etc and watches what Im doing. Obviously I will not be letting her do all this to the new arrival but at least she will be able to help and feel involved.

I am also fairly confident that this time round I will find things a lot easier in terms of I know what Im doing this time. I think with your 1st you tend to worry about every single little thing. I remember the 1st night my daughter didnt wake up for her 2am feed and I paced the bedroom in panic that something was wrong when in fact she was ready to drop the bottle. Experience is everything.

xx

I know how you feel. When i fell pregnant with my twins, my other 3 children were around the ages of 6, 4 and 2. When I was told I was having twins I felt exactly the same as you. I was worried about how they would react as clearly twins take up a lot of your time and how I would cope with managing all 5 of them doing the school run etc. Yet when they were born the other kids were fantastic. They always wanted to help out and my 2 year old at the time was great. She had never had a new baby in the family like the others had and she loved every minute of it.

Trust me, you may well feel anxious now, but when the time arrives everything will just fall into place and your worries will fly out of the window! I'm sure your daughter will love having another little baby around, and in time it will be great to see them playing together and building a good relationship! xxx
