buy some ready meals so you don't have to cook. get nighttime sanitary pads (nicer than maternity ones and just as good), also heavy and medium for when your bleeding starts to slow down. if you're breast feeding, get a maternity bra (wait till near the end for that) and breast pads. if bottle feeding have bottles, milk and steriliser all ready. get up to date with normal stuff like washing, paying bills, ironing etc so you don't have to do it straight away. i always took a water spray into hospital with me, you get hot in labour and it's nice on your face.

you know nothing can prepare you for it you have to go with the flow! the main one is to try to get a routine going as quickly as possiable so you know where things are when you need them i used to have nappies in the lounge & in bens room/our room so that you werent caught short & always have a towel on you ready for those sicky moments. other than that just remember when baby sleeps try to have a kip so your not dead tried all the time. good luck hun x

i found that the baby just fit in with me, if i was going out i made sure that i took a change bag with me and then we just went! we tried to do something every day so we werent just sat in the house all day! and i didnt worry about stuff like the washing or ironing or housework, that was still there when i was ready to do it!

Seconding having some easy meals ready to go. Stuff you can eat one handed while holding a baby.

I went through way more burp cloths than I thought I would ever need.
Mits for their hands so they don't scratch their face up.
