Lets not forget the children!

I hope the moderators don't mind but i came across this petition on the internet. The stories that went with it were heartbreaking!
I was in a terrible relationship myself (he was a drug addict/drinker) and i do nothing now but feel guilty about what i put my children through whilst trying to salvage anything from the relationship. I won't go into details of the things they saw but our life was hell.
I then had the courage to run and get an injunction. However, that in turn worked against me as the court encouraged the ar..h... to apply for a contact order. We are now going through hell once again. And let me tell you......despite all the claims of 'fathers for justice' and the likes, courts are puttings the fathers first and ignoring the pleas of the mothers and the cries of the children. EVEN if you have piles and piles of evidence and clear justification for opposing contact.

Anyway, i've gone off a bit.......sorry

I think it would be a good idea to have a section on here for mums going through the court process (re: contact, injunctions etc) to share experiences and give help, support and advice to eachother. It really is when you need it most

I agree proops, the courts didn't listen to me or my children at all and all I got was supervised visits for the first 6 weeks. I'll give him his due though, he's cleaned up his act and 7 years later he's still seeing them regularly.

I was in a ten year relationship from hell with a drug user, and have him continuallay harassing us. Im going thru courts etc with him, well its just been struck out,cos twice he hasnt turned up, but he will be allowed to keep doing this. As if we havent been thru enough with him.

the father of my 2 elder children wanted contact and parental responsibility even thou he put them throu hell wiv always letting them down,so we went to court 4 days after giving birth to my son as they would not allow a postponement i actually told the court that they could
give father wot he wanted,but wotever he got i would definately not abide
by it and they could waste all the tax payers money by puttin me in prison for breaching the order if they really wanted,i was doing it to protect my kids,not to spite any1,he was allowed contact and got parental responsibility,he phoned up after court and i told him i still stood by wot i said in court,well anyway a couple of months later we moved and have not been found,so hopefully hes got the message,and id do it all over again,cos the kids really don t want contact wiv him

i think fathers get enough damn justice to be brutally honest, im in the position where i have to fight for contact every single year as all i get is a couple of days a year with my girls 'cause the main problem is that theres nothin the courts can do if someone doesnt continue with their agreement. All my girls father does is agree to loads of contact then doesnt bring them down to see me, the courts can't do anything about this apart from make another sh**** agreement then the whole process starts over!!!

thats horrible koala!! is he not thinkin of ur girls!! some people just dont think b4 they act!! they'l only hold it against him as they realise wots been going on!!! hope something gets sorted 4u soon!!

Yes me too, never does though, been goin on for about 6 years now, but they realise more and more (mainly that daddy is forgetfull) and that6 he needs a long rest after he brings them up because carlisles a long way from milton keynes (shouldnt have moved there then the silly fool!!!)

my step dad went through that when his 1st marriage split up. his x said he could have the kids every sunday as long as they did not come in to contact with me, my sister or my mum. the only thing was is that he lived with us so it was a bit hard,as he hated taken them out without us.the couts just said sorry but its up to their mother. in the end she had to give in as she wanted to swan off with her new hubby ( who turned out to be a pedo)on a holiday and was gonna leave the kids aged 8,9,10,11 on there own for 2 weeks, but she bit the bullet and asked if they could stay with us. after that we all spent time together which was alot better for my step dad.
