i had a mate who used to get beaten by her boyfriend.if she was not home when he got in from work, he would get well mad and lump her.she finally got out of the relationship,but she was in it and being beaten for about 5 years.she tried to get away from him, but he hunted her down, then she would forgive and move back with him, and the anger and abuse would start again! he was a sod, but shes out of it now and alot safer.she has 2 little boys from her ex partner, she hopes they dont grow up to be like him!

that is bad, at least she is out of it now! no woman deserves to be beaten by a man! a man who hits a woman is a coward, and should have the worst done to him!

Im glad she got out too. So many women dont.

I put up with being beaten by my ex for 2 years. I had always told myself that if a man ever hit me that I would leave but its a lot harder when its actually happening.

I went through the whole 'He loves me, he'll change' scenario but he never did.

I got a kitten and when he starting hurting a small innocent animal I had to get out. I didnt have the confidence to leave for myself but that just pushed me to leave and I havent looked back since.

thats awfull blondie, i agree with you, when its happening its totally different.what you say you would do in a relationship,if some1 hits you, is totally diferent to when it happens! so many people are stuck in these relationships and cannot get out!

I think there needs to be more recognised support for victims. My ex has recently had a baby girl so I hope he realises what a AH he was to other women.

Hil. I am still with someone who hits me. He says I am paranoid and if I wasn't like that everything would be alright. He blames me for EVERYTHING!! he's incredibly tight with money infact he's a parasite and I havent got the money but he's got loads. He keeps all that secret because"it's none of my business", he bad mouths me to his family and friends, and in public he humiliates me by shouting; he blows up over the slightest thing and shouts, calling me names such as bitch, stupid cow, moronic twat,nerd,slag, weirdo ,psycho,tells me I am like a psychiatric patient etc etc and then expects complete trust from me! I find him impossible to trust because of what I get - or don't get -from him. I've never worried about my age too much but when i became 40 I was fed up as I feel I havent acheived some things I really want to. So I wanted to have a few friends to meet at a nice pub for a buffet. I was more than happy to pay as I just wanted a nice time. he sai "if you think I'm F****** paying for that you've got another thing coming" - Yh he really loves me doesn't he

whenever we've stayed at mum and dads he has never so much as taken a contribution even tho he had free bed and board. As far as the physical stuff goes - he's headbutted me 3 times, strangled me 3 times, kicked me, pushed me to the floor. thumped me many times, slammed a car door on my back when I was trying to talk to him,thrown hot tea in my face,shakes me, that's just some of it. If anyone calls you names or hits you GET OUT BEFORE ITS TOO LATE OR YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF TIED TO HIM FOR MUCH TOO LONG!

reading your story was like taking a step back in time.i was with my now ex husband for 10 years constant physicall and mental abuse.he thought my place was in the kitchen and bedroom.i lost all my self-confidence and put on loads of weight i was nearly 20 stone but even then he would accuse me of sleeping around,even though i never left the house.i had no friends my family hardly saw me in fact i think my local hospital saw more of me than my parents did.i decided to end the relationship when i met a lovely man who showed me how a woman should be treated.we were together for a couple months before i had the courage to tell my ex.i am still with the man that changed my life i have lost loads of weight had 2 beautiful children and got married,the only good thing that came out of my abusive relationship was my 3 kids.my story had a good ending but so many dont my advice to anyone is GET OUT and be strong i know its hard but you will feel like a better person and you will find someone who will love you not abuse you.

gosh when i read your stories i'm grateful for that man that i have . i've never been hit or been matally abused before so i have no idea what you all went through...i wish you all well for the future & if you are still in a bad relationship then please get out if not for yourself for your children.... there are some good men out there you just have to eat alot of dud toffee's before you find the strawberry cream. chin up..
