Lonely Lennox had 'suicidal thoughts'
Annie Lennox has revealed that she has felt suicidal with loneliness in the past.
The former Eurythmics singer said she had tried Prozac to combat feelings of isolation caused by her childhood.
She told the Daily Record: "Being an only child has given me aloneness that sometimes has leaked over to loneliness. I didn't learn to be around other children, like siblings do, when I was little.
"When I was four, I understood my father would die one day. It was a shock, and I ran into my neighbour's [house] with tears gushing."
The 53-year-old said she had tried anti-depressants for a week but had felt that pills were not the answer to her problems. She added that she had never attempted to act on her suicidal thoughts.
Lennox has two daughters - Lola, 17, and 14-year-old Tali - from her marriage to filmmaker Uri Fruchtman.
