Student claims shes pregnant by Doherty.
A student - also the goddaughter of Sir Alex Ferguson - has claimed she is pregnant with Pete Doherty's child.
Laura McLaughlin, 20, said she found out over Christmas that the baby is due in June and is sure it is by the singer.
"I was a virgin when I met Peter and when we had sex," she told the News Of The World. "He knows about the baby. I told him I was pregnant the moment I found out shortly after Christmas. We are only in contact by phone."
McLaughlin, who is due to study law at Harvard University, is the daughter of Stephen and Helen McLaughlin, who are long-time friends of Sir Alex.
She said she conceived the child during a weekend spent with Doherty in October: "He told me he liked me because I was intelligent and straightforward as well as sweet and innocent.
"He said I was the opposite of Kate Moss. He led me to believe when we parted on the Sunday night, things weren't going to end there. But they did."
A spokesman for Doherty told the paper: "Pete says he doesn't know who this girl is."
