Sylvester Stallone defended the use of human growth horm
Sylvester Stallone has defended the use of human growth hormones and slammed the public for its "archaic" perceptions.
The Rambo star was charged with importing the drug into Australia last year, but he has insisted that the muscle-building hormone does not cause instant body growth.
Stallone told US show Today: "It's not pumped up. What people don't understand about HGH is it's an amino acid. A long time ago people didn't understand what they were talking about so they lumped everything together. It's really archaic the way people perceive HGH.
"I only wish that it were true, that you can just take something like that and you're in shape. You've got to put years and years and years of hard labour to get in shape."
The actor recently dismissed claims that he had been taking HRH in a bid to make himself bigger for forthcoming sequel Rambo.
