oooh can really sympathise with this one. i have 3 kids and it's impossible. the 5 year old across the road comes to my house all the time and says it's a mess - but my kids are not allowed in his house cos his mum seems to want it tidy all the time. my kids paint, draw, bake, play with toys and are allowed to be creative and i think that's more important. sometimes tho I have asked their grandma to take them out while I get stuff done, also make sure your partner (if you have one) is doing their bit. have come to the conclusion my kids stuff is more important - when they are all at school it will be easier, and when they get older all they will remember that I had time for them and not constantly cleaning! is really hard tho.

how about try turning it into a game and getting them to help you, sometimes when they start playing up is cause they want your attention on them

hope you get there I find this frustrating too but then the 3 eldest are at school during the day and only have a toddler to contend with until they come home but I usually leave all mine till the end of the day as with this lot and my o/h which is like having a 5th child about too sometimes there is just no point in tidying to have it untidy to just tidy again!!!!!!!

I know how you feel!! My eldest 3 are at school during the day but I have the twins at home and like urs they want to play. I've kind of given up on tidying tbh. In the past I used to tidy and the house would be lovely, then the kids would come home from school and it would be a mess again, there was no point. I just put things into piles and make it look a bit respectable. When Im tidying I get them to help me and they they don't feel left out. I get them to pack their toys away and they quite enjoy it lol!!
