I havent used one sorry... but I guess to get a heart beat would depend on the position of the baby. When I went the midwifes and while in labour those heart thingy's was always on the left side of my belly so I just put it down to the postion she was in.

Hi. I bought a fetal heart monitor from the local argos. was a 'Summer' brand. it picks up kicking and movement but not a heartbeat and I am 28 weeks.

If you are hearing a heartbeat already then you are very lucky! depends on which way your baby is lying as to where on your stomach but just move the monitor until you find him/her and enjoy hearing it!
