Default Nasty head bump

My daughter is always banging her head etc but today she fell head first into the kitchen cupboard door!
She screamed and I scooped her up only to see the biggest blackest lump appearing on her forehead!
It got bigger and bigger, redder and bluer b the second and I was terrified! I burst into tears as I tried to calm her down. She happily sat on my lap and had a good cry but would let me put ice on it.
After about 10 minutes and a good cry and cuddle from mommy the lump had gone down a bit and she was back to running about, playing eating and drinking as normal. Shes not drowsy or anything.

I will keep my eye on her over the next 48 hours, but god I was so scared. I have never seen anyhting like that before, it was like this lump was just bursting from her forehead, it really freaked me......it looked terrible. I think they call it a "goose egg" bump.

I never ever want to see that happen again, it was awful.

xx

Ohhh no. Hope she is alright. When I was younger I was running around the house and I went to run into my brothers room and dont ask me how I missed running thru the door way and ran into the door frame and got a bad lump on my head. My mum always tells everyone that story which makes me laugh but she said she was scared and watched me for a couple of days in case of headache etc. I hope it gets better soon. *huggs*
