the labour

it was not long before i was due and my midwife. who had delivered me as a student told me the baby was lying back to back ( where her back is lying parellel with my back)

two weeks later i was told by another midwife that was nonsense.

the day before my due date i ate curry had 6 hot baths walked for miles and then marched john up to bed telling him he had put the baby there he was going to make it come out. and my god did it work. 45 minutes later at 12.15 am on my due date i was stood in the kitchen and my waters broke and i instantly started having contractions. not very big but i could feel them. i couple of hours later i went in to hospital with my mum and john. they checked it was my waters and then said as my contractions werent very strong or frequant they sent me home! i treyed to get to sleep but at half past 6 i was in th most agonising pain. it wasn\\\\\\\'t just in my tummy but in my back. my contractions were now every 4 min lasting about 90 seconds. at about lunch time we decided it was time to go back. now i\\\\\\\'m afraid i don\\\\\\\'t remember a great deal about the rest but i\\\\\\\'ll tell you what mum has told me.

i was put on a monitor. told i was going to be in a long hard labour as of her position. i carried in agony for 30 hours with only a bit of pethedine which just made me drowst and entonox which made me sick. by now i had had 5 midwifes and one of which had demanded my mum go home because she had asked if they were going to help me in anyway. as none of them seemed in the slighest bit interested!

they then decdided to give me an epidural and oxcitozin as i was still only 6 cm after 32 hrs. not right! my mum came back with john and i slept then until they woke me to say i had to have oxygen as my sats and the babys were dropping. the epidural was creeping is way up and freezing my lungs. at this point i was on my seventh midwife. epidural had been turned off and i was struggling to breathe.
